After A Shit Show Of A Summer, The Montreal Canadiens Have Scored The First Goal Of The 2018-19 NHL Season
If anybody put in a prop bet on Arturri Lehkonen scoring the first goal of the NHL season, then you deserve every single penny that is coming back your way. But here it is. The first goal of the 2018-19 season. Hopefully there are about forty-five billion more to go.
It’s been a pretty wild summer for the Montreal Canadiens. They traded a core player away in Alex Galchenyuk in exchange for Max Domi. They traded away their captain in Max Pacioretty. It was announced that Shea Weber would miss the first few months of the season after getting surgery. Marc Bergevin went into the offseason with his approval rating already in the shitter and somehow made it even worse. But as of right now? At 7:37pm EST? They are the best team in the league and the only team with a goal on the season. Not a bad turn around for the Habs. Quite the rebuild.
Hockey season is back, folks. I promise I won’t blog every single goal. But I also might blog every single goal.
P.S. – Hope this Kotkaniemi kid has a fun time during Mites on Ice tonight.
P.P.S. – Right before I hit publish on this blog, Auston Matthews scored. So yeah, Habs aren’t the best team in the league anymore. Tough break.
